Day 1 – Write an Elevator Pitch

I found this wonderful site this week to give support to women bloggers called The SITS Girls. It’s stands for the Secret is in the Sauce. But it’s about support for for women bloggers. They have started a 31 Days to Build a Better Blog Summer Challenge sponsored by Darren Rowse of Problogger and Digital Photography School blog fame. The man is a genius.

It was supposed to start on July 19. I’m starting a little late but I do want to build a better blog. So here I am. If you want to know more about the challenge visit The SITS Girls Blog Frog Community

Day 1 Task: Write an Elevator Pitch for Your Blog

I never thought about an elevator pitch for my blog. I do marketing and sales in my “real” job and I like to escape that world when I’m home. To have a successful blog I will have to start looking at it as I do all of my other marketing work. Except my blog is a LOT more fun! :) Because it’s about things I really like and care about. I know there are a lot of other blogs in my niche;( I think that’s covered on Day 4) but I have to show people how my blog is hopefully different and has something to offer them.

It was said by another one of the SITS girls on the Blog Frog forum but it made me think about my blog going from me-focused to reader-focused. I think that’s what I will strive to do.

So here’s my elevator pitch…

What is the purpose of this blog? In other words, why should you stop by?

The purpose of my blog is to hopefully share what I’ve learned about cooking, crafting, homeschooling, photography and cub scouting with all the other people out there that feel like the juggle a million balls a day. I will teach you to cooking healthier (hopefully), do some cool craft projects, share some homeschooling downloads, and share my adventures in cub scouting and learn what other packs are doing and hopefully show you some really cool photos as well.

Be Sociable, Share!
