Who Am I?

Kim Photo- Recipe, Craft, Photography, homeschooling and scouting guru
This is me!

My name is Kim. I became a wife in 1995. I became a mother of a son in 2002. I love dogs. Actually, I love all animals. First, I had Pomeranians. Their names were Gretel and Jasper. They have both passed over the Rainbow Bridge. Currently, I have a wonderful 11 year old Bernese Mountain Dog named Peyton. If you’ve never heard of them, Google them. They are the BEST dogs on the planet. If I had the room and several industrial strength vacuum cleaners,I would have 10 of them. They shed!

I am the eldest of 4 daughters. Education was my mom and stepfather’s first priority. I’m glad it was. I grew up in Jackson, Mississippi. Yes, I do wear shoes. Yes, I did make it past the 6th grade. Yes, ya’ll and “fixin’ to” are part of my vernacular. No, I didn’t marry my cousin. :) Despite its really bad reputation, Mississippi was a wonderful place to grow up.

Kindness and hospitality are the norm. Yes m’am, no m’am, yes sir and no sir are required. God, family, friends, and country are the priorities.

Of course, my biggest hobbies are the ones I blog about, but I do have other interests. I have a music degree. I play the clarinet and I am a coloratura soprano. I sang opera in college and a little with the Mississippi Opera Chorus. Yes, Mississippi has an opera company. You can close your mouth now. I taught band, chorus, and color guard. I stopped teaching and doing professional music when I was in a car accident and broke my back.

It was then, my life changed. I had to find a new career. With the help of my mom and stepdad, I became a graphic designer. I loved it. It still was able to use my creative side and support myself. I miss my music life sometimes, but I’ve had quite a ride with graphic design, marketing, and now this crazy thing we call the internet.

I hope you enjoy the things I write about. I hope to find other Jills of all Trades like me. I have so many interests I could never get to them all but I’m going to try my best.

Thanks for stopping by to see me.

What is the purpose of this blog? In other words, why should you stop by?

The purpose of my blog is to hopefully share what I’ve learned about cooking, crafting, homeschooling, photography and cub scouting with all the other people out there that feel like the juggle a million balls a day. I will teach you to cooking healthier (hopefully), do some cool craft projects, share some homeschooling downloads, and share my adventures in cub scouting and learn what other packs are doing and hopefully show you some really cool photos as well.
